Target groups: Beneficiaries and intermediaries The Terra-Verde target groups are beneficiaries and intermediaries: • Terra-Verde beneficiaries are the farmers’ families on the Central Plateau. They are not supported directly by us, but by intermediaries. • Intermediaries are organizations that technically support the farmers as service providers and help them acquire ressources necessary for financing the extensive transportation costs that arise when building contour stone walls. • The most important service provider for our farmers is asso patecore, which was established as the implementing agency within the ALCD. • Other Burkinian non-governmental organizations (NGOs), working in the same field, could also be qualified and supported by Terra-Verde. Former Network PATECORE State Institutions such as: • The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Burkina Faso • The Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung(BMZ)) • Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ GmbH - Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit) • Development Bank (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) and • German Development Service (Deutsche Entwicklungsdienst (DED) Non-Governmental Organizations such as: • German Agro Actions (AGG) (Deutsche Welthungerhilfe) • Alliance International • Center for International Cooperation (Freie Universität Amsterdam) • Round about 20 NGOs, with which PATECORE had a cooperation and which it supported Many former PATECORE partners welcome our initiative. That is the reason why the ALCD and the sponsoring association Terra-Verde e.V. would like to maintain the contacts and in some cases even intensify them. We are, however, well aware of the fact that we cannot act on the same level as before due to the financial possibilities. We are nevertheless convinced that we together with carefully selected partners can regain the efficiency of the former PATECORE project. New Partnership |
